I'm looking after friends horses while shes away and changed thier rugs today down a weight as it was so warm. I'm only able to check them once a day due to distance. I've now seen its going to freeze over night - the cob is fine he doesn't really need the warmth but the TB has a wooly coat but as shes old she feels the cold!

Do I change their rugs back to heavier ones tomorrow or leave them?

I know this is a little late but for future reference, I horse sit quite frequently and I always think look after that horse as if it was your own, to the best of your ability, and I don't mean this to sound like a dig but if that TB mare was your own how would you like it if someone that was looking after them left her without her rug on knowing she'd get cold and stiff.
