Bought a pretty cheap second hand GP saddle for my 4 year old to be broken/begin her schooling in, as her schooling is progressing she is becomming a bit nappy and bucking on one rein, teeth were done a couple of months back, so decided saddle fitter first, then if no problem there, back person out.
I was not expecting what he was going to tell me, as soon as he picked the saddle up he said i know what your problem is here, the plates are cracked so the tree underneath is splintering and the saddle pivoting and pincing as she does circle work = me feeling really guilty, poor baby so young and got pain bless her but despite the bit of napping and little bucks she has still done everything asked of her which made me feel worse that she even tried to work through the pain, thank goodness we acted quickly, that saddle went straight into the tip after we disected it to have a good look at it, didn't want to risk anyone else using it on a poor horse.
Would also like to recco the saddle fitter Tom Connolly, so so impressed with him, impartial, professional guy, really happy with him.
