Feeling left out with my sharer

Thanks again for the tips, I ended up crying to the sharer today, so we haven't really gotten anywhere, tbh I'm starting to feel she's not what's upsetting me, I think it's the yard owner, like her horse is about to go into heavyweights and I dont even want mine in a lightweight all the time, yet she implied I didn't care about my horse because I was letting her get cold so now she's rugged

Oh I feel for you! I am useless at asserting myself.

Yes it's mid november, but this isn't normal weather it's ridiculously warm! (assuming you're in England) A heavyweight rug would be nigh on cruelty in my eyes in these temperatures. It was 15 degrees when I was on my way to work this morning.

Echoing what someone else said, write out which rug horse wears for which temperatures and weather conditions, give it to the sharer or stick it up on your stable door. and don't forget it's YOUR horse!

I have a wonderful sharer but I think I'm a pretty good owner too - it definitely works both ways. Let the sharer know it's your horse and to take instructions from you with regards to its care and well being not the yo.

Ps my horse is fully clipped and in a no-fill rain sheet in the day and a light fleece at night. Goodness she'd boil if she had anything heavier on!

My mare has sweetitch and is still being bugged by the midges!! She's been in a lightweight at night fly rug in the day, but tonight I'm about to go and remove the fly rug and she will be naked and re fly rugged tomorrow, I like her to be naked whenever I can as she absolutely has to be rugged in summer, and I do like her rugged in harsh winter, so this time of year when we are in limbo is the only time she gets to be rugless!

I know I will be contacted tomorrow morning saying she's cold! She has natural shelter of trees along two sides and access to a shelter

Tell them to ****** off! I am really mean as mine are bib clipped and naked. They are bib clipped as they were too hot naked - a rug would make them melt!

I hate that I am this worried about it, I am perfectly happy with my sharer we are going to the pub tomorrow evening (non alcoholic for myself) to discuss this stuff, I am happy to train her up for the time being and trust her to do rug changes and basic care by herself, I did blame the hormones for my outburst today but if I'm honest I think I have a touch of anxiety which is why Iv been stressing about this for weeks (yes she's been rugged for weeks!) she's a 14hh slightly overweight cob!! I'm relieved she's naked now! She can be a pansy (each horse is different) and she will be rugged in heavy rain as if she isn't she will just mope by the gate all day and that to me says she's unhappy, wheras rugged in the rain she will happily graze, but she doesn't need to be rugged on dry nights like this!

I have also told sharer there will be a rug chart going up and she is to consult that, and of that doesn't have the answers try me, and if she can't get hold of me then the yard owner, I will leave things with the yard owner for the time being but if she tells me what to do again I will politely say thank you for the advice I'll take that on board and make my own descision
