I bought my youngster 2 months ago and have done everything myself he's fab and wouldn't change him.

He is in the process of been broken at the moment and I don't know why I have got nervous - I have never been nervous before.

Any hints or tips ?

How about trying some Rescue Remedy? It helps me :)

Also try and remember to breathe and also smiling helps a lot!

I know it's all easier said than done, but I'm sure you'll get there. One day you'll get on and after you have got off again you will realise that you hadn't been worried at all.

It's perfectly natural to have those "heart in mouth" moments with a young horse, and you have to get to know him all over again as a ridden horse, honestly it will happen quicker than you think x

Thank you , it's good hearing a bit of support now and again !

I second rescue remedy as a suggestion but will be honest and say the best ride I had when trying to rebuild my confidence followed a large and hastily swigged glass of wine ;) I don't recommend this though!

I've just thought of another thing! Take your time getting him ready.

Have a little groom, tack up slowly and calmly, let him have a little haynet while you are doing it. I find this makes for a chilled horse as well as a chilled me, the more you rush around the more tense you get which makes it difficult to wind down once you have got on IYSWIM?
