...about tomorrows joint vet and physio assessment of Orkan. Rode him last night in new yard long and low in walk as advised and he felt a bit stiff but nothing too bad (started him back in work last week after 3 weeks off with back tweak from playing with his new field buddies plus possible old tightness from being an eventer and he was hopping behind in trot when i was riding but almost sound trotting up...)

Just hoping it is still tightness in his back that he is being treated for and vet can sedate him so physio can do a deep session. Really hoping its not arthritis or anything more serious.

Only had him 6 weeks and was hoping we'd be going to stressage now but at least I have a horse to love and enjoy who makes me laugh every day.

Tell me all the issues come at the beginning then its plain sailing!

Hope you get good news. For stiffness or mild arthritis, a good joint supplement can work wonders, and I have had fantastic results from Aviform Suppleaze Gold:

I also feed Aviform's canine supplement to my dog which has worked equally well. Worth a shot especially as it's one of the more competitively priced joint supplements on the market.

Thanks MM and Kezz!

LA - I'm using the vetvits equiflex supplement which seems to work quite well for him and is quite reasonable. Will see whether vet thinks he needs any additional supplements aside from this and his linseed oil (got to have a super shiney horse to rival antifaz
