I have my new instructor coming out tomorrow morning and I am so worried/nervous. I know I will be fine but I just keep thinking about all the things that could go wrong and getting myself into a state!

He is coming out for two hours (not riding the entire time) to go through all our problems and it will be the first time in over two months D has been ridden!!

Argh!!!!!

((( Hugs )))

But it sounds a great opportunity so do try and make the most of it. I'm jealous (can't afford an instructor :( ) Plus, if instructor knows D hasn't been ridden in weeks he certainly wont be arriving down with expectations of perfection. So in a way it's better that you're out of practice......! You can start from scratch.

I'm sure you'll be fine! Honest. :)

Thank you!!

The only thing stopping me from cancelling is the fact that he is meant to be very attractive!

I know I am lucky to be able to afford the lessons I just keep having images of myself falling off as D naps at the gate or spooks at the sheep in the field! This is my last chance to get things working for me and D so I HAVE to be brave :)

I choose him because he specialises in nervous horses and riders (I promise!) I keep winding my husband up about it tho, and he keeps insisting that a female instructor would be much better for me! Lol

Sounds like similar conversations me and mine have!!!! :D :D

I'll let you know tomorrow if he is attractive as everyone says he is. I wouldn't want you to waste your husbands money :) ;)

No.... I'm quite good enough at that already :D

Hope lesson goes well. I am sure it will because you're worrying about it do much. I always find that the more I worry about an upcoming event, the better it goes. x

I've always been told that with any situation your nervous about, imagine it in your mind going really smoothly...pay attention to every detail..how your feeling..how your riding..the weather esc...maybe even put a favourite song to it? Then replay all these thoughts in your mind whenever you think about the lesson and during your lesson. I know this sounds really silly, and that there's no way it could have an affect..but it really does work if you do it thorougly! I've also seen it being mentioned in horsey magazines in articles on confidence issues. best of luck and just remember to enjoy! :)
