feeling sad, viewer tomorrow.

I have someone coming to view my lovely pony tomorrow. I have had him for sale for a while and bought him knowing i would sell. however i had begun to think i would never sell him and was making plans to move him closer to home and get a loaner/sharer.
however, i had a phonecall from a lovely lady and they want to come and see him tomorrow, they sound like a fab family who will take good care of him.
im sad though, he really is a fab and fun pony and if i wasnt so damn tall, i would keep him.
i know he hasnt been sold yet but just thinking about it makes me weep!

I know in my heart i need a horse to do what i want to do and he would be wasted with me so it is the best thing for us both.

im also pretty nervous for the viewing, i have only ever sold one of my own and i wasnt there for the viewing due to a losing both my grandparents. i have ridden at viewings for work but its not the same.

sorry, i know it is a pointless post but still, i needed to vent. anyone else felt the same when selling?

I know exactly how you feel... I have an 3 yr old tb x coloured filly whom i put up for loan/sale recently. I had six viewers and five of them wanted her and i turned them all down...I just couldnt bring myself to let her go !

Don't worry you are me a month ago. I still haven't sold my pony, well I lie, I've "sold" her three times over but all pulled out, even after a vetting because they don't actually have the money or decide last minute they want a horse not a pony. So fed up now!

What I'm trying to say is don't get upset there are so many timewasters out there that he may well not sell this weekend, or sell but no deposit and they'll tell you weeks later no thanks! Bitter me never

Being on both sides I think just go with it. Funny old world horses and people and if its right it will happen. At end of day You own the horse so you can sell to whoever you see fit. I think gut instinct will help. But as a buyer I never wasted peoples time, I interrogated on the phone and as soon as I got there and knew once I clapped eyes if it was going to be the one. If not I would not view and went.

Its nerve racking but if the horse is what it is and you say just go with whatever they need your horse to do. I hope you find a good home(you can always ask to check them out etc...I offer as a buyer for them to visit, provide references etc to reassure). But good luck.

I really feel for you, having just been through it myself.

In the space of one day, last week, I had to take one of mine in to be put to sleep, and then another who I thought would be with us forever, passed his vetting and was taken straight away by his new owner.
I have to say though, that he went to a lovely family, and I have already had several emails saying how well he has settled in and how much they adore him already, so I have to take comfort from that.
