ARGH i'm so pi*#ed off
. I went with my sister to a riding stables near Cromer, Norfolk that is offering horses and ponies for sale to have a look round and maybe to purchase one if possible. We looked at all of the ones offered and my sister arrainged to buy 2 for herself while i was unsure of commiting to buying one. A couple of weeks later we went back and were told that one we had been interested in was still for sale and that if we wanted we could pay the £3000 in installments. We then payed £150 deposit and i did tell them that while i really liked him i was waiting for a compensation claim to be paid out to me(car accident) so that i could pay for him in full or i would not be able to pay for him. They agreed that this was ok and that they would wait for the money as they were still loaning him to another client of theirs while her mare was pregnant. A week later we were told that he is not suitable for nervous novice riders as he bolts when asked to trot and has no brakes and it hard mouthed by one of their stable girls who rides out with him on hacks, thus making him no use to us as we wanted him for our 3 eldest children to learn on. We had been told by the people selling him that he was a riding for the disabled horse and was extra safe as a first time mount for anyone. This was a lie. Thankfully we had only paid them the deposit of £150 cash. When i rang up ,to ask for deposit money back, and spoke to them they were very rude and said there was no way they would pay me my deposit back as deposits were non refundable, this was news to me as no one said anything about that when we paid it, there is nothing on the receipt about non refundable deposits
. My sister even tried to get them to transfer the deposit money across to another horse she is buying so that she could pay me the money back but they refused to do this. They told her that the money would be used to keep the horse over the winter and then he will be sold on. What would they have kept him on over the winter if i hadnt been misinformed of his ridability? Would they have left him to starve? I cannot see why they will not just pay me the damn deposit back as they know he would have been no good for what we needed him for. My sister has also been sold a pony by them that is unridable which was supposed to be a good un, but she is hoping to have him rebroken/reschooled properly, she daren't say anything to them as she is worried they might do something bad to her daughter who goes there riding.
Sorry this rant is so long......... finally rant over. x
