after nearly a year of having my own transport, i finally put my big girl pants on and took a pony out on my own! i’d taken the day as annual leave, for a bit of life catch-up and self care, and what better way to practice self care than making myself sick with anxiety!🤣

she’s fine travelling but can be a bit sticky to load - i’m talking taking maybe a minute to stand on the ramp and look at me like i’m daft, but it’s been enough to put me off! i’ve no idea why as i don’t even need the 2nd person to load, they have strict instructions not to interfere anyway😂

well today she hopped right on both ways, we had a lovely time at the gallops and she even stood nicely tied to the box for me to untack and sponge her off, which is something usually i don’t even attempt - to be fair to her, i think it’s the buzzy atmosphere at shows etc that makes her dance, even though she’s 100% when i’m on.

feeling very chuffed with myself and also my darling pony! minus a point for the huge nappy-bronc she did that nearly deposited me over her head😤😂 but once we got over that disagreement she gave me a really nice feeling, using it to practice our transitions and rhythm, she even gave me a bit of stretchy trot bless her cotton socks🥺

Well done! Being confident to go out alone, opens so many doors to fun!

Do I recognise those gallops - Chalke Abbey Racing stables south derbyshire?
