think I deserve it a bit!

Did some Monty Roberts type lunging today and got around the blind side by making him see that I click my fingers when I raise my hand up for a forward pace.

He was doing joinup and stopping whenever I told him.

He was even offering me his feet to pick out afterwwards - anyone who remembers the dramas we have with feet will appreciate what a big step that is.

Onwards and upwards hopefully xx

Yay Yay! How fab, so glad isnt it worth it, when they are like that! Feeling a bit misery today, not horses just going back to work and doing horses and dogs in the dark at both ends!

I gotta give him a chance - he's very intelligent so just needs to know that I'm boss.

Small steps but he's not allowed his haylage now until he stops pestering me - small things seem to make a big difference with him....

plus he's such a good looking boy - can't give up!

x

Oh no - I know how you feel hun - it's always a drag coming back after crimbo - just think though - not long till the clocks go back!!! x

Aww thats great news, ive been reading your posts recently about you and Ty and i hope you've both turned a corner!! Good luck, it will be worth it all in the end!!

mmmm, that's why I wouldn't own a warmblood - I'm soooo gonna regret saying that aren't i?

Aslong as I'm being consistent and doing what's right, hopefully we'll make progress!

Well done, partcularly the feet, we can now pick up and pick out the big girls feet, even put them in buckets and add water BUT she still has to be sedated for the farrier to trim, she is not bright and is a 17hh shirexclydesdale.

ahh, now the farrier, that's a whole other ball game!

farrier is convinced I should learn to do it myself as i'd have more luck - I think i'd probably disagree!

Absolute;y Stimpy, not only does ours not let him have the feet, she tries to sit on you when you kindly take the weight! Not a game I want to play.

Have you tried the whole join up thing? I'm a real convert!

If he gets in my space now - I just 'grow' a few inches and put my hands up and stand at him full square.....it's weird how simple it all is but not something I'd naturally do.

Alot of it has to do with your state of mind - some horses (especially TB's) can smell fear a mile off!
