hey guys :)

im feeling winter already, my 8yo gelding is already showing his winter coat !?!
and is wearing a light rug at night already :(

i was hoping not to be using rugs until september but he is feeling the cold, and with the current grass shortage..

anyway for those who are on 24/7 summer turnout, when do you usually start bringing in at night for the winter??

:)

Its still very warm here in the west mids, although it is dropping at night a bit. Havent noticed any sign of winter coats though yet, coblet goes like a yetti as soon as its cold, shes out 24/7 with welshie all year round. The wimpy TB will be rugged up and in most of the day and and night as soon as it gets winter-cold.
SOOOOOooooooo depressing talking about winter already! :(

my conemarra is out 24/7 rugless march to october (when the clocks change) as he is quite tough
he only comes in during the summer before the show
i feel the cold alot though im freezing right now !

Usually bring in end of Sept but we are bringing in at night as of the end of August this year as the grass is struggling a bit :( Ban is in every night anyway as he is V porky but I might let him have the last week of Aug out.

Lord is in a lightweight overnight and a thin cotton sheet if its nippy overnight (dropping to about 11 degrees here overnight allready :( )

It's awfull to think the clippers will be out in 10 weeks *cries*

Hello, i am in NE Scotland and it has still been really good here i work outside all day (postie) and during the day the temp here has not been below 15c between 10am and 3pm according to my van even when its raining. I suspect i'll put a l/w rug on at nights towards end of september i will just judge it by my horse though..x

30C:) Nope, not feeling the cold yet.

I don't even start rugging until the horses look cold, last year that wasn't until it was consistently -10C, by day.
