Decontraction commences :) Your main job is to keep thrush out of the central sulcus as its widens, my best tool for this is Red Horse Arti Mud, push it up the crack until it squidges out between the heels. No stinging effect for the horse and it stops soreness from thrush holding him back as the wet weather sets in.

She said she's using Artimud
Lately I've discovered Silverfeet, a really good thrush treatment, and a good price. Because it's greasy it seems useful for horses living out.
Amazing how quickly things can improve in such a short time isn't it? Brilliant! (No wonder the FRC are getting tetchy...).

Yes I hope he can reduce to three x weekly scrubs after another three weeks....
I feel like his feet are cleaned more than mine!!
All the nail holes have grown out already, his hooves grow so fast esp his heels.
Hoping to see even bigger change in three more weeks.....
Yup got four tubs of artimud as the other three also have a few little areas that need help....

I can vouch for Silver Feet as well.
My last pony got thrush really bad on a deep litter bed (on full livery!)
I started doing his stable, clean and dry every day and using silver feet and his feet cleared up really quickly. He was barefoot.
I use it on the new pony as well (his last owner was sponsored by silver feet so they had always used it) and his feet, although shod, are the best I've ever seen.

I've seen silver feet in pink blue etc, what one?! :)

You can get whichever one you prefer as they all go on clear.

I don't really understand the colour thing myself, other than you might get the blue one for a gelding and a pink one for a mare, must be a sales ploy or something.

Lots of improvement already, think you'll have a lovely set of barefeet in no time. :) do you supplement magnesium? I only ask as I know what a difference this makes to my lad's rock crunching abilities. I use Calmag and pay £17.40 for a 25kg sack, I think it's going to do me a year at the rate of 50mgs a day! ;)

I use silverfeet everyday on my lad as protection, just because iv seen what silver tech does fin the mud fever creams ( fab stuff) so thought as it uses the silver tech as well I would try it
