Feet growing quickly

Has anyone elses horse's feet been growing really quickly this year? Corroy's are growing so quickly she really needs to go 5 weeks instead of 6. Prob is she is getting a bit foot sore for a few days as she has to have quite a lot off when shod.

Glad its not just me then!! Thought my youngster was abnormal as only his 3rd set but they are growing at an alarming rate. My mare also who has really slow growing feet has had a bit of a spurt on but i did think i was imagining hers??!!


I can see farriers rubbing there hands!!

Someone out there must have the answer!!!!!!!!!

I thought it was due to the wet warm weather this year

Dont know, Tis a question for my farrier who will as with you will be coming a week early

(wonder if my boss will pay me a week early?) LOL

My farrier has says they all are this year, mind you I think he agrees with me to keep me happy

Yep, all ours have been exactly the same this year, feet growing like topsy.

Mine too!

Going 5 weeks at a push now. Mo used to go 6 and Molly used to go 7 or 8!!

Yep mine used to go 8 weeks, now at 6 they are desperate.

My pony has to be shod every 4 weeks in the summer because his feet grow much quicker in the summer but then they slow down in the winter

Which farrier do you use Madam Mazx? Yep its the same for my horses. In fact my horses seem to need shoeing every 3 weeks at the mo 5 weeks seems to be pushing it

Ivor Cordall. Thankfully she was sound tonight after being shod, in fact I think he put spings on instead

Not heard of Ivor, am surprised have been through most of the farriers in this area ! ( fussy, me!) Glad she was ok, their feet seem to have been growing at alarming rates this year!

He's done my horses for about 10 years, so reliable, unlike most of them round here
