Well I guess this isn't news! How can it take them 2 or 3 WEEKS to decide on the verdict from Michael Whitaker's hearing tomorrow? He's already been punished having been banned from competition from early July.

i have heard tht they are going to drop it, not that will make up for michael missing loads of the season not to mention the europeans.

friend of mine has worked on his yard and said mares defo do get that drug they found and that the number of horses she could easily imagine one bowl getting mixed up.

Hopefully if he does recieve a ban they should count it from when he was first suspended. I feel really bad for him, yes its his responsibility to make sure his horses are clean when they compete but you'd need eyes on every part of your body!

I have to say "Sorry" it is not that easy to mix up a feed bowl. Much smaller & less professional yards than Michael's manage it all the time. Is it too difficult to put names on the feed buckets? Furthermore a yard with so many International horses are usually housed seperately with all banned substances well out of reach. Horses are cared for by a senior & very experienced groom. There is no excuse for it. I would expect better management from the local riding school. I realise this sounds harsh but come on this is one of the biggest & most professional yards in the country.

I agree. I have a separate bowl for my horse when he needs meds, and a separate feed stirrer. Not exactly beyond the wit of man to do that, now is it, and I don't compete at a high level (but have known people in the area get tested at low level aff comps so am ultra-careful myself).
