Fell off Rosie tonight, through no fault of anyones but a blimin' tree that got in the way!!
Moral of this story is don't go riding in one of your work fluffy jumpers - now ruined!!
Was just picking my way through a very overgrown field - nettles, brambles and self sown oak trees.
Squeezed under a small tree, and caught the arm of my jumper on a cut bit of branch. Didn't realise at first until we'd carried on walking a step and my arm didn't want to follow!
Eventually dropped my left rein thinking I could wind myself off the branch, but Rosie was too far past, and I was well and truly stuck!
So, still had hold of the right rein. Rosie went to walk on, and I was yelping 'no, stop, come back'. But by then she was turning round, not sure what to do.
So as she turned I got dragged out of the saddle, across her bum, all in slow motion and thought 'this is gonna hurt: going to land on my head right behind her'. But the saving grace was that I was still attached to the tree!!
The jumper by now had torn, but it supported my weight. So I ended up sliding off backwards, pinging back into the tree, where I smacked my arse, and landed on my feet. Still attached to this tiddly little branch!
Held onto Rosie, who looked all confused, and not at all bothered that I had done a Family Pony-esq slide off her butt. Then Inka (Shetland who was loose), what a sweetie, came back to see if I was OK. Literally shoved past Rosie and the tree and stuck his nose in my face as if to say 'hello, are you OK? What are you doing down there?' So gave them both a big pat, checked out my injuries - huge bruise on lower back where I hit the tree, and sore arm. Climbed aboard and carried on our way, thinking ' how hilarious'!!!!
