Fell off Yesterday

Hi guys, i fell off my boy yesterday, was on him bare back and no tack, normally he is fine i trust in 100% even tho he can be a git lol i had a friend take some pics for me, took about ten them all of a sudden the flash came on! well i hit the deck faster than you an blink lol didn't hurt myself just winded, now me boy is terrified of a camera, i need some help how do u get your used to a flash? thanks x

I'd start when I wasn't on it then progress to on it but with tack

lol well yeah would be my first thought too, but to he honest with or without tack i've now found something that he isn't used to and am asking for help with the flash dilema x

Well that's what I was giving. Start on the ground and get him used to it then progress to on his back with tack, then without tack if that's what you want. No point falling off again so better to get him used to it in hand. It might never spook him again.

I know this my be random but when your at shows do photographers use flash? as i could pob fix this by not using a flash at home but what about shows? x

I would take him out at night somewhere where car headlights will create a similar flash like effect...... Don't bother with the tack, you may just confuse him. Then just sit there til he stops acting like 'a git? Of course you may fall off again but.... It's the camera that is the problem not lack of appropriate equipment/balance or anything so it will be fine to just keep doing it.
