We are having a bad run of it at the moment injury wise... horsey was upset by a nasty hedge cutter a couple of weeks ago and slid into his field gate taking off the bottom rail and injuring a muscel at the top of his rump. The vet came out, checked him thoroughly and recommended a weeks rest, then walk and straight line work, and physio. So he improved loads in the week, trotting around his field happy and sounds etc, so took vets advice and we went out on sunday (over a week after it happened) and he was fine, a little fresh, but o.k, just to stretch his legs. Then today, again just a walk with another horse to start to build him back up again, and he tripped and fell on his knees, fortunately i had put some knee boots on him because he'd been off, unfortunately they were the jeffries free knees i usually jump in and didn't protect him....consequently he has two grazed knees, not beeding, but hair off sore.
I've cold hosed for about 10 mins, hibiscrubbed and applied dermagel, firstly anything else you think i could do??
Also the physio is due to come on Wednesday (had to wait 2 weeks nearly for an appointment....should i still have her out...?
Sorry a bit long, just worried about him...advice greatly received!
