ive got a lady farrier who is the only farrier i could find to put shoes on my shetland, she is very understanding and very patient... the local vets recommend her and so would i she is fantastic!
Ok...I am not a sexist person and I truly think many women are capable of doing most anything a man can do.
That being said...........
I have NEVER had a good epxerience with a woman farrier.I also know of two other people that have had the same complaint. Not sure , possibly just coincindence.
I have to say that I prefer men but that is just because I like my current farrier and he happens to be a man...lol
I wouldnt have a problem with a woman farrier, apart from the lack of male bottom to ogle!!! (obviously only if your male farrier happens to be a dishy type!!)
I used to have a female farier, she is one of the best farriers I know, would happily ask her back. My farrier is old and definately not worth ogling. On the other hand, my previous farrier was runner-up in Sexiest farrier comp one year, now he was hmmmmmmmmmmmmmm
I used a female farrier for a while.I have to be honest and say that my horse had never lost so many shoes as he did when she shod him. When i changed to my present farrier he took off the one shoe that was still on and said the reason why my horse kept losing his shoes were because the heavy hunt weight shoes that he has were nailed on with pony sized nails. So the shoes just came off over the nail heads as the were far too small for the shoes.
