Sorry, this is just going to be a series of questions:

What sort of first aid knowledge would they need to have?
How much xc knowlege would be required (apart from penalties obv)?
What happens if they need the toilet?
Finally: What's the best way to get involved?

What sort of first aid knowledge would they need to have? None, at BE events you get a radio, and if first aid assistance is needed you report a rider and/or horse fall radio for help.

How much xc knowledge would be required (apart from penalties obv)? Not a lot, usually get briefed at the start of an event, and the organisers answer any questions you have.

What happens if they need the toilet? Usually a toilet or bush near-by, if not, hold it! :p

Finally: What's the best way to get involved? Contact BE, they are usually looking for volunteers to help out at events.

Not sure about unaff. though, contact your local centres and find out if they need assistance.

Everything she said!!

And if you're near Milton keynes then Goya was looking for some volunteeers for 15th May :)

Thank you! Unfortunately I'm nowhere near Milton Keynes or I'd get in touch. I'll have a google when I'm back in work tomorrow (just moved house so got no internet and having to use my phone to feed my HHO addiction!)
