got a new 15hh'der on the way(possibly) and wondered if the short posts will do as it is all we have used in the past for our 12hh pony.

we have also been suffering with the short ones we have being very brittle.

could you let me know what you use and what works

i think they come in round and half round and are 5`6`` tall.it is good to run leccy tape along the top.you can buy fittings for this but i cut up old hose-pipe into 4`` lenghts and double it over to work as insulaters.
i have damanged my wrist from banging in posts in the past but it you get someone in a tractor to push them in the ground it is quick and easy.

Are you referring to Electric Tape posts or wooden

I Electric one ... I am amazed that the short leccy ones work to keep any horses in, although saying that my 16+ TB would not dream of jumping the tape strung on short ones, however my 14.3 old boy would jump them even now

Probably too late! but avoid the "cheap" posts. The reason they go brittle, is the plastic is not properly UV stabilised and is made brittle by exposure to sunlight. Buy posts from a recognised fencer manufacturer, IE Rutland, Wolseley, Gallagher, Hotline etc and you will get good posts. Try and avoid the cheap deals on E bay, or bargain price posts..

All the best
