Can anyone suggest a good place to buy round wooden fence posts to renew fencing to have 3 rows of electric rope on? I am in Lincolnshire, Lincoln/Market Rasen area. We have a Mole store and a local woodyard locally who does them and we can pick up from there, as some deliveries from further afield can add a lot to the cost, but not averse to looking further. Just wondering if anyone knows of any particular "bargains". I say round, because that's how it's always been, but is there any advantage in using square posts?

Many thanks. C.

Do you have any chestnut coppice nearby? If you can buy directly from the woodland, it's so much cheaper. Ours sometimes advertises on Fbook marketplace. ( I'm a long way from you though!)

Due to the rate that tanalised posts rot, it works out cheaper in the long run to get the more expensive creosoted posts. Otherwise just use untreated posts. No idea of where to buy cheap from in your area though.

I get chestnut stakes straight from the coppice and stick the bottom 18" in creosote before use.
