Been offered another field, is around an acre.

The fencing is absolutly ****ed to put it nicely :p

How much roughly would it cost to have the sheep wire put all the way round.

I know i know, sheep wire isnt a first choice but im not made of money! And also welsh a see's any gap as big enough for her so its the only thing id trust her with (apart from post & rail) Will be having a line of electric round the top as well.

Ta :)

The best thing to do would be to buy the fence posts, wire, hammer, staples and a post-hammer. Try to find a couple of strong helpers and install the fence yourselves. It may take a couple of weeks of short sessions because hammering fenceposts is knackering if you're not used to it!

This would be the cheapest way to get the fence you want and if you don't die of a heart attack you will be super strong by the end! ;)

Just asked my OH, though he is a little out of date as he has spent the past few years putting out fires rather than fencing he feels that it would probably cost you around £400 for materials alone, £1000 for someone to do it for you but that depends on location, trees, shape, ground etc - his personal suggestion and one we have done here for temp measures would be pencil post, one rail and then electric several strands.

Crikey Teddie Edddie, we only did ours two years ago! There must be a heck of a North/South price change. We did get it cheaper from a mate though..

do as we are this weekend & onceyou have got the posts & wire have a post ramming party (bbq supplied) my mates are bringing drinks & something to throw on bbq & will be post wacking & bale shifting/stacking (hay bailed tomorrow) saturday gonna be fun.

Its another field at my yard weve been offered.

Weve currently got about 1/2 possibly even a 1/4 of a acre for a 14hh and a 12hh all year round (along with their stables)

So obv its impossible for us to manage the grass, the field already has the fencing, i just would trust the little one :p The YO's Handy man would probs do it :) As its towards making the yard better but we would have to pay for most of the materials i guess :)

Thanks everyone :)

ETA - Theres already wooden posts, just need the wire and poss a few posts replacing!
