I am looking to get some of my old p&r fencing replaced
I have seen certain mesh/wire fencing specifically for equestrian use e.g. X fencing system - has anyone used it -got experience of it? I am fed up of the rails being chewed etc. Someone has suggested using just posts with electrified rope - is this widely used? (similar to temporary electric fencing set-up but permanent)

I am also looking for a contractor to install, can anyone recommend a contractor in Cardiff/south wales area?

All my paddocks, apart from roadside are wooden posts and electric rope (2 strands); the roadside has livestock-proof mesh and electric rope above. The mesh for horses, like Tornado wire for example is good, but very expensive, I'm afraid. If I could easily afford it, I would have gone with it, but with 40 acres and no fence in sight when we started, it just wasn't a financially viable option.
The post and electric rope is very cost efficient, though :)
