Can I do this?

I bed on chopped rape straw, and whilst I have some nice men who come and take my muck heap away for their allotments, I have some beautiful going black stuff that I wonder if I can have spread on my winter field come spring time.

Field is rested Mid march until october/november time so presume this would be enough time for it to wash in? Also, how would I do this, would I need to get someone with speciailist muck spreading equipment to do it for me? The field is about 3 acres (maybe a bit more) so not huge.

Yes, you can do it :) The sooner in March the better and it will have plenty of time to get into the ground.
I'm afraid you do need a tractor with a muck-spreader, but it will take them no time at all to spread on 3 acres.
I would imagine any livestock farmer around you would have the right gear ;)

I hope there is no baler twine in your muck heap, there is nothing worse than having to de string a rotospreder. You would not be popular!

Oh yes !. But I have perfected the perfect remedy, You cut down the rotor with an oxyacetylene torch and melt the string. Then sinply unwrap. :D
