Fertilising usage in fields

Can anyone please tell me the length of time after fertilising fields is required, before horses can safely be put back on them. I am using an artificial fertiliser this time 10:20:15 think it is which has a lower than normal nitrogen content as I want to get root growth and this mix was recommended. First time for 6 years so was needed! Next time I will probably use the more expensive natural fertiliser but needs must this time.

I usually leave mine for a good month, by which time there has been some good rain.

the reccomended time is two-three weeks depending on the rainfall.
