My pony has developed laminitis possibly from a steroid injection. He has has a weeks rest with pads taped in feet . This week he is looking much better -his meds have been reduced and he is being x rayed monday & then farrier is going to put pads n his shoes. We are on a livery yard that fertilizes their grazing . He was only on 3 hr turn out before this happened . Will it be safe when he is able to be turned out to put him back on this grazing-he will obviously have to have a grazing muzzle on .. I am reluctant to move yards as we have been there 3 yrs and he is settled there. He is not an easy pony to deal with as he was a rigg and still displays stallion tendancies-i wouldn't want to move him somewhere where people interfere and have problems ...We are as yet unsure weather he is IR as cant be tested until he is not sore.

I would discuss with your vet. He knows your horse and will have seen your grazing.

The land we are on has been fertilized, still doesn't mean we have any grass :(. Jusr saying as it seems to depend on soil type/part of country as to how the growth rate is.

Hope horse recovers quickly.
