*raises hand* I do.

Been away from the yard with work for over 3 weeks now and not seen my horse really. Before, he was quite lean, fit as a flea and was working like mad to keep weight on him [going through a bag of coprafeed every 6-7 days and ad-lib haylage etc].
Now. Different story! I got him in last night to ride him for my first time again and my god...I've never seen him carrying this much condition lol. So much for my little TB who I was struggling to keep weight on a little bit up untill last month! Typical...all that feed down his neck over winter and now a field to himself of brand new grass and he balloons that easily lol.

Course his attitude has also ballooned with it and is rather fizzy now, which he never has been as energetic even on barley rings/oats/etc! Sods law. Hmmm. Lots of hacking and lunging for the next week I think...... :o

Me...my warmblood resembles a black furry spacehopper at the mo.

His new saddle arrives tomorrow [yippee] so will be able to work him then...

Mine's definitely looking round, but he's nowhere near as fat as he was when he arrived last summer - back then a 32" dressage girth would only just go round him and this year we're 2 holes each side away from it being too large.

Yep, mine. I'm really cross at myself for letting it happen, he was in great shape and then with no rainfall in 3 months the ground is like concrete, the arena is like quicksand and I just haven't been able to work him hard enough (long walking hacks aren't easy as he isn't mega confident - yesterday he had a panic attack that a pile of horse poo that he had walked past the day before was now white with mould, daft beast). So I am now working him twice a day, getting him confident on certain hacking routes, schooling, circus tricks, long reining, going to the gallops for trot work on good ground. It's taking up half my day trying to get the weight off! And I can't feed him any less as he barely gets anything!

Nope - no rain = no grass. We've just got dry brown scorched fields, so are feeding haylage to keep them okay - no fatties here. (Except me maybe as I don't eat grass!!!)

Cor no complaints then lol....my lad's not keeping up with the grass lol:

After having nearly two weeks off (due to exams), my mare's belly is getting a little porky. It doesn't help that she's an absolute machine when it comes to eating. Any food put in front of her is demolished in minutes :rolleyes:

Mine resembles a whale :eek:

Just had two weeks of walking exercise on vets advice after a cough and a course of ventapulmin. The grass is coming through good guns at the same time and he is now obese. Back to the fast work now though so hopefully will start coming back off! :rolleyes:

My pony is a true fatty! Although she has started wearing a grazing muzzle which she does not like so she has started stropping around the field. I see this as a good thing! My mare also like to walk around a lot when she grazes and she walks after the pony, So her exercise is getting better!! haha
Just started lunging her and taking her out on hacks with my mare

My gelding is very close to foaling :o Though he has since slimmed down after being put in a starvation paddock :P

PS well aware that there is ragwort overload in the field, he's in the half of the field that hasn't got any, only took him out here to photograph :P, gradually bringing myself to attack this half :P

My gelding is carrying twins :D

he has a massive belly but its funny as it doesn't affect his girth or saddle size, as it all culminates at the back of his belly!

It's all this sun, rain, sun, rain making the grass grow!

my horse put it on a the shoulder -.- so he cant wear his saddle at the mo as his shoulders push it back :/ but i can feel his ribs really easily hmm im thinking a but of good ol' lypo suction on his shoulders ;)

Unfortunately I too have fat fit and fizzy pony due to too much grass. It is very annoying as riding is not much fun when he has this much energy and spooks at things but I need to ride him more to get his weight down.

Yep my mare looks as though she's expecting. Unfortunately it's a constant struggle with her and she's muzzle with only 6hrs free access to grass at night. She's only 12hh so I can't put her into proper work but she gets lunged and long reined every day- still very tubby though :( I think the most I can ask for is for her not to put on anymore weight over summer.

Just for once I can say "not me" Fany is usually a fatty, but because she is in a field that was used over winter the grass is no where near as good so she is not getting as much good grass, plus she is on very limited haylage and is in at night. I am hoping to keep her weight down all summer, as she does seem to put on weight soooooo fast.

me :o

i didnt think she was *that* bad but shes (After colic too!) on restricted grazing (4 hours a day) double netted haynet (night - that really pees her off)... normal in the day - and then out

she gets next to no feed anyhow - soooo feel mean on her lol - increasing her excercise too - 5/6 days a week but taking things slowly as i dont want to starve her lol.

What do you guys think?

shes 5 year old warmblood x cob (apparantly but anyones guess really)!...

One fatty;

One fatty at the front, skinny at the back (figure that one out!);

One nicely plumplicious :D (Dizzy, she's a bobber to get weight on);

One doing okay, but needs more work.

One is retired (the fat in front, skinnier behind), but he will get to play more often, and the other go back into work in a week's time (when exams are over :D).

Monty was beginning to look good... No longer about to foal thanks to grazing muzzle, more work as ground beginning to soften (a bit). However the twonk has taken chunk out of chin right where it sits, so no grazing muzzle till thats healed and stables just been reconcreted, so no in time either. Here comes the foal again! Other two looking quite trim though.

My connie was looking ok until he decked me last sunday and kicked me as i landed, since he crippled me he has had a week off and looks like he's about to pop 3 foals out!! 2yo looks ok but I think all the energy is going into going upwards instead of outwards - he won't stop growing!

Me!
Mind you I bought one of them like that. She's been on a diet since she arrived at the end of January. Her 60" girth was tight and her weight is off the weight-tape. However she has now lost 6cm and the girth goes up to the 3rd hole on both sides, so at least the diet is working but very slowly.
2 of the others are being closely monitored as well and then we are trying to put/keep weight on the retired cob -oh the joys of horse-keeping!

I do! One of mine is like an elephant! He was obese when I took him on and has lost a little over last two years but it's so hard to shift it! He's had two years off work due to stifle ops then me being preggers but hoping to start riding him (if he can cope with some light work) next month, if I can get a saddle to fit him! I'm finding it much harder though getting weight off him than keeping weight on my tb!!

Mine is podgy too...... he's getting no feed and grass growth hasn't been amazing, it's mainly my fault for not getting him out enough. I feel bad every time i see him poor lad but he seems happy and healthy so i won't worry too much.

Looks like a fat chick at the mo though as he hasn't quite lost that winter coat and had tufts around his belly.
