EEEEEEEEEEK! I have entered Ryu in the showing classes for the Festival of the Hunter, we're doing middle weight hunter and novice hunter, I felt really confident until I got the riding club magazine with a guide for the showing competitors and now I'm terrified, it seems really really strict. I know Ryu will be fine and we have 4 weeks to tune up but I'm scared now of looking daft. Has anyone done the Festival showing classes before?

Heres a piccie of Ryu (Its been up before) Is he any good?

I'm off to Newark and Notts on Saturday to study the hunter casses and get some ideas for my show and will tack him up and take some shots and perhaps post again for some reassurance!

Where is the show for the festival of hunter? Wouldnt mind doing it on my boy. Sorry not sure about your horse. Hes lovely though.

Thanks will have a look now. EEK it looks rather scary I may give that one a miss lol. Seen as I not done any shows yet on ben. Good luck though, If I go I will let you know. Where is aston le walls?

No I have one and will give him a try I expect he will go well if not would a rugby pelham be acceptable? I'm worried about galloping as a group, he won't bolt off or even get excited I'm more worried about being too slow!

I was mant to be doin the Junior xc champs there but my horses vaccs wernt up 2 date wen we qualifyed so they wont let us compete now even tho they have been redone

so thats the whole team not allowed to go now and the horse i actually qualified on was the resurve horse and they wont let me compete that either as there was a change of name or something stupid

:(:( o well, anyway ur horse looks lovely and im sure ul b fine! good luck!

I was going to do the Working Hunter but it's on in the morning as is the XC, and as we don't find out our order to run in until nearer, I decided it wasn't worth the stress. Plus we're better at XC than showing!!!

Anyway, your boy looks perfect for the classes you want to enter. I've only every watched the showing classes once at the Festival - as I've only ever made it there once before!!! But was pleased to see lots of different sorts of horses taking part. That's what I like about Riding Club.

I think a rugby pelham will be fine (2 reins) and I wouldn't worry about being too slow - others will wish theirs will be as they go bucking past you.....let some of their enthusiam rub off on you! From the pic (little hard to tell) he looks a lovely sort...is his coat through now?
