Fetched my sisters new horse today!

Remember the suprise present?

He loaded perfectly, travelled brilliantly, was a little excited this end (to be expected) but is now eating hay and acting like he's been here forever!

He's been having a mooch about to look at his paddock, but then goes back to his hay....then has a bit of a canter and a buck, AND a roll....then back to his hay again!

Pictures were naff due to the heavy fog here, but the minute it clears, I'll be taking some and will keep everyone updated.

Yes! We went two days before xmas, we DID want to get him here for Xmas day, but the weather was against us....and their track was a skating rink, nice and defrosted now though!

Saddler is booked for 22nd January, will give sis time to bond a bit, do some lungng and so forth, as he just needs a bit more muscle on him in a few places.....

The vaccinations did laspe though, so gonna start him off again next week with those. He hasn't got shoes on, but she's not gonna bother to get him shod until the weather improves, and we have a grass school of sorts that will be fine to work on! When farrier comes next, will just get him trimmed.

I've sorted out a nice everyday bridle, have a girth or two that will fit, a bit, martingale (if needed) and oodleds of saddle cloths, bandages and stuff that she wants to buy off me (it was all going to the carboot anyway!) and cooler rugs etc etc that I no longer need.

The plan is, to get a decent secondhand leather saddle fitted for everyday use, and a nice dressage saddle if she finds she is enjoying that more.

Pics! You will see he needs a bit of building up both weight and muscle-wise! she is going to give him a bit of a lunge tomorrow and a good groom! He has a damn good roll and is even muddier than this now!
