My boy went for an MRI this week and has come back with a bit of a list of issues. I’ve tried Googling but the MRI report is very very technical and I’m struggling.
So does anyone have experience of:
a) desmitis of the lateral long collateral ligament of the fetlock
b) possible collapse of the fetlock joint to the inside (only hinted at on the MRI, further x rays booked to confirm / rule out)
c) he also has some navicular changes but this seems rather easier to Google.
My vet has said box rest for a month, but the MRI report says “These changes, if true pathologic, will imply long-term rest (consider at least 6-8 months with no field access for at least 3 months, only after that period hand walking can be started).”
It may be that the one month box rest was just for starters….I’ll talk more with my vet next week.
Is he fixable?
