Last night I noticed some swelling on Oscars near hind just above his fetlock. Its only on the near side and seems to be going down (although not completely) overnight. Its not hot and doesnt seem to hurt him. This morning there was still some swelling although not as bad as last night.

He had torn his cruiciate ligament on the off hind and is in the process of getting over it. He's now at the stage he can go out in his normal field (and has been for the last week) so I was wondering if it could be related to that??

Do you think its possible he could be compensating a bit more on his near hind if he's feeling a bit stiff/sore on his off??

Should I be worried/bandaging/leaving well alone/hosing.....

Any help gratefully appreciated.

Sounds like he could be compensating. See how it is over the next day or so and check for heat, if it is just swelling and no heat then it usually is because they are compensating. Alternatively he may have knocked himself. Hosing the swollen leg can't do any harm.
