I feel very lucky to have a fantastic farrier who is great with all of mine, he is very firm especially with the youngsters but he has plenty of patience, saying that I work with the horses to ensure they are used to being handled. My vet is the most patient, caring person I have seen around all animals and my equine dentist is fantastic. My farrier has given my old mare a reminder that she is to stand still with a smack on her rump, that she deserved!! If I caught anyone hitting any of my horses around the head for any reason it would be the last time they were ever anywhere near my horses again.
