I walked from my house to the bank this afternoon, through a car park then down the road. Along the pavement of this road (leading away from the town centre) I counted 10 (yes TEN) piles of dog crap!!!! Now, I am a dog lover to the core and I would defend anyone's right to own a dog and to walk it almost anywhere, but, for goodness sake, how hard is it to put poo bags in the pockets of ALL your jackets and actually use them!!! If you are walking your dog on the streets it will almost certainly be on a leg so you WILL know when it stops to relieve itself!!!!!! There are more than enough blinkin' dog haters out there without giving them further ammunition!!!

Oooh, I feel better for getting that off my chest, but it really really annoys me, but then so does littering of all types!

It makes me really mad too  And is even spoiling some of my favourite walks at the mo :(

*from someone who has nappy bags in every single item of clothing and handbag* :D

Every time I get anything out of my coat pocket, a kind of streamer of pooh bags comes out as well:D

I agree, people should pick up from the streets.

LOL! Me too! I can't even get my keys out of my 'smartish' handbag, or some change from my purse without leaving a trail behind me :p Even the hankies in my pockets smell of nappy bags! :o

I took the girls out at the weekend, in a rush between coxing outings, and Fraggle got covered something absolutely foul! I really don't want to think about it too hard, but it was pretty much the most disgusting thing I've had to deal with in all my years of owning animals. *vomit*

I had to get ahold of my poor little poplet and dunk her in the river. I'm amazed the jogger passing didn't think that I was trying to drown her :o Poor girl was most upset :( and so wouldn't be caught when we then got back to the car  I am reluctant to go back there with them now :(

Oh noes! Naughty poplet:(

I would leave it for the memory to die away and for her to regain her trust in you (I know you weren't trying to hurt her and I can well imagine why you did it, I have certainly 'encouraged' Henry into water with the toe of my boot when he's been minging, but she won't understand that) and then go back and have a really fun game with her and Pops so she gets a good association with the location.

Also be prepared that you may have to get wet if you want her to learn to swim, Barney had a similar experience as a pup and would never swim all his life. Although he didn't have his mum on hand to teach him!

Oh she's been fine ever since :) Trust isn't a problem, I don't think - she's my shadow  And she was fine later on the same day, and every time that we've been to other parts of the river bank since. She was just rather miffed at the time, but there was no way that I could put her in the car, or bring her back to the house with that on her.

ETS - I'm not sure that I really want her to be keen on swimming. I don't want a dog like her sister who leaps into the river at every chance as it's too dangerous around rowing boats.

yeah, sorry, I meant that I'm reluctant to go back there due to the ****! I don't think it will be a problem with Fraggle :)

Totally agree, is it any wonder that in some parts of the country, dogs are banned from certain parks :( All because of lazy t***s who cant be arsed to pick it up:(

Several parks round here don't allow dogs and the few that do have loads of dog bins but you really have to watch your step  :( I always clear up after Yellow Dog (Im the one heaving and turning green :o ) and it makes me so mad that people are so lazy

Yup. I was picking up other dogs poo the other morning. Was so tempting to walk past it, but I get sick of the bad press :(

I once got yelled at to pick up my St Bernard's poo - well, I would have done, but she was doing a wee... The chap didn't seem to get the idea that I couldn't pick it up.

Agree totally.
When I walked my dogs, its - jacket on, poo bags in, leads on - GO! And I always pick up poo and I feel awful if say they have pooed in a leafy area and I cannot find every last plop! I hate seeing dog mess everywhere, even my dogs hate being around it!

I had that once!! Some hoody youths started shouting at me whilst one of the girls had a wee!!!!

What I hate is people who have gone to the effort of picking it up then hang it in a tree or lobbed it high into a tree, what's that all about ?

Where I go hacking we see it all the time

No idea about the lobbed-high bags (why oh why?!), but I often hang poo bags on branches to collect on my way back as many of my walks involve having to return along the same path.

I do that too on one particular walk where I have to go back the way I came but I still feel really guilty about doing it and feel the need to explain myself to anyone else in the vicinity!!!

Slightly off topic as not in a public place so to speak, had 8 piles in my hay and straw on one day, at the stables. I lost the plot and "had a word" with the owner of 4 dogs on our yard. I had been monitering the amount and times it was happening, so knew who was doing it. Hasn't happened since.....
I have 2 dogs, so i am aware what they produce.... pick it up!!!!!!

Yup, get rather peeved when people allow their dogs to toilet anywhere and everywhere. People seem to think it's okay to allow the dogs to mark my door way at the shop! What's that all about? They don't seem to realise that it tends to soak in to the wood and really stink - especially on a warm day. But pooping dogs leaving their piles aren't necessarily attended by a person!

I see all the time in the neighborhood where my shop is - dogs roaming with no person around. It tensds to be the same dogs all the time. No matter how many times you collect the dog up and call the dog warden, it still occurs. Lot of the pavement crap tends to be by these dogs....

And decorating trees with bags of crap - don't understand that at all. If the bag is biodegradable and decomposes, then the tree is then left with poopy branches. Poor tree....

Yes, I have to say, even if people intend to pick it up on the way home I don't think it's acceptable to hang the bags on trees.

This drives me mad - the path down to my field is a footpath and I am sick of having to try and dodge giant piles of dog poo when walking up and down to the fields. Even worse is when I am turning out the two together which means they have to walk through what we have named "the poo trail" at the side of the track, imagine picking out feet after that! The farmer has posted notices either end of the track requesting that people clear up but many still don't and some of those that do chuck the poo filled bags onto my poo pile outside the gate - what am I supposed to do with it..... makes me so mad.
