I have a Section D who typical to type is a very good doer and I always struggle to keep the weight off. At the end of winter she was looking fab but has slowly been gaining weight again. She's not obese by any means but tubbier than I'd like. We're in the Cambs area so like many are suffering with no grass due to the drought. When I say no grass its literally yellow and very very short.
She's been having a small feed of fast fibre which contains her vits and mins and Hi-Fi Lite once a day and gets a section of barley straw in a small holed net to pick at in the evening (she is currently out 24/7)
I know lots will say take out the extras particularly the feed, but I don't regard this as a 'hard feed' - it's to ensure she's getting enough fibre. Same with the straw. Or am I being over cautious and should I stop this?
She is exercised 6 times a week though we have no school so are limited to walk and trot on the roads due to the hard ground.
Its so hard to know what to do for the best. Keep food going through her tummy but without her piling on the pounds. Any ideas?
