Anybody been out beach riding from here? What’s it’s like? I am really considering taking my boy to the beach later on this summer - it’s one of the only things we haven’t ticked off our bucket list. This would be the closest one to us (we are in Lincolnshire). I have posted this on the regional board but haven’t had much of a response so thought I’d try here.

would also like a pal to meet and tag along with if anybody is up for it? I did have a reply and an offer from iknowmyvalue on here but I have pmd her and not had a response yet. We could do a HHO meet up?!

Hi
I have been a few times. It’s a nice ride to the beach along a track then a little bit of road work. Maybe 25 minutes to get to beach.
you can ride on the beach for miles. We went to the next resort and had a beer and some chips.
There is a little xc course at Field farm as well.
People who own it are really nice and you can get takeaways delivered which is a bonus.

If I can get my saddle fitted, and you don't mind a young horse tagging along, I would love to come. I would probs have to stay overnight with the distance. Would you be interested in 2 beach rides, or a beach ride one day and a XC play the next?

I am happy enough to camp alone.

My boy is 23 (he doesn’t act it) now so it would just be a day trip for us but more than happy for you to us for the day. He is usually great at escorting babies but has never been to the beach before so can’t be completely sure what he will be like. Plus it will cost me £200 for transport for the day to hire his royal highness a 7.5 tonne box as this is the only sort he likes ? ? so two days would be extortionate I would imagine! Plus I would be leaving our other horse home alone which he will be fine with but wouldn’t really be fair to leave him alone overnight. I am hoping to go around August time so if you get
Your saddle sorted and want to make a plan, sent me a pm. :)

I will (hopefully) be moving that way in the next 2 months or so. I’m minus a horse but will be desperate for pony time so if you go and want an extra pair of hands feel free to drop me a message :)

I've been a few times (including driving up and back in the same day - not recommended ?) and also planning a trip at some point this year with some of my friends, maybe I can try and coordinate?!
The beach is great, buzz doesn't like the top half where its a bit deeper but closer to the sea you can go for miles. He also hates the sea so we stick to the middle bit!

I’ve been a few times and I do really like it. Although there always seems to be the same out-of-control yappy terrier there whenever I go. It’s very big so plenty of space even when it gets busy. But I agree with Chippers, the top is very deep.

I'd love to join. We are Linc's and always go at least once in the summer for the day. My mare is a star about it and very happy to play in the sea and sensible enough to escort babies etc. I would be up for staying over or coming back the next day for XC (could probably stay over and camp). My girl is now seventeen and has competed to 90 so is a nice reliable lead if needed. They have a fab variety of fences and plenty of little stuff. You need to plan beach ride for as close to low tide as you can then there is loads of flat beach. Is always a lovely day out. They have a new arena with a course of show jumps too. If you are just going for the day you can pay just for beach parking or add on the show jumps and XC if you want.

What time is ‘low tide’ or does it vary? Complete newbie at beach riding!

It varies but you can get tide tables in advance I think a month or so. Would be ok a couple of hours either side of low tide (6 hour cycle two low and two high tides per 24 hours) but at high tide there's not much beach and what there is is too deep/soft to ride.
