we've finally moved house (woohoo!!). Our new house has 2 fields which contain buttercup and dock leaves. The previous owners had horses but the house has been empty for over a year so the fields have just grown wild really. im looking to get my own horse next year but need to sort out my field management skills!!
Anyway, ive read that buttercup and dock are not good for horses. Im wondering if you have these in your horses field? How best do you get rid of them?
Thanks for your help, sorry for the waffle!!

Neither are great things to have... to get rid of docks the easiest thing is to get a local farmer to spray your fields. I'm not sure if what they spray will kill off the buttercups as well but this is what we do for docks.

You need to use a selective weed killer. Also check for any rag wort. Make sure that whoever does the work has the appropriate license to carry out the spraying. Are you going to cut for hay this year? If not I would have the grass cut and collected so as to get the grass to dense up.

Ok thanks for the advise. Theres no ragwort but will get on to a local farmer and get them to sort out what needs doing. Hope its not too expensive!
