field injury, possible strain, any vets on line

horse brought in from field, severe lameness o/s/r, left in for 24 hrs, brought him out tonight & looks like his fetlock joint is locking, unwilling to put his weight on leg & wanting to put his toe down first, possible strain, found skid marks in field, he wears no shoe's, leg has slightley swollen, heat up in inner hind leg , many thanks

Flipping heck! If I'd brought my horse in from the field and he was non weight bearing on 1 leg I'd have had the vet out immediately. Hope he's ok.

I agree with BOF I'm afraid. The horse is in considerable pain if he is non or nearly non-weight bearing. It could be a 101 things, you shouldn't try and guess but call the vet immediately. Sorry I know it is stupid money to have to pay but sometimes you have no choice.

Vet Vet Vet, it will be better in the long run, my horse was not even lame (sound on all tests) but has had a tendon injury im so glad i called the vet

i did call the vet out & it was a strain & small course of bute & resting for 5 days walking fine now so all is well again.
