Hi,

I have my lot out on a track/strip grazing hybrid & they're out 24/7. Big horse had laminitis a few years ago but farrier thinks likely concussive but obviously keeping on top of his weight. He lives with 3 donkeys & 3 alpacas.
I've been trying to find a low sugar mineral field lick for them, they just have a Himalayan one in their shelter.
They certainly aren't poor between them but could do with some more minerals given the restriction. Any recommendations? I'm loathed to give them a balancer unless I really have to but am aware I may need to!

I use rockies yellow mineralised salt lick. Rescue pony used it loads when she first arrived. I go for the large 10kg ones and put on yard but out of rain. They last months and months. Apart from that they just have haylage in winter and handful pony nuts. Very cost effective.

I use this one, I have one out in the field all year around and it has been grand especially for one of my donkeys who has had lammi a couple of times in the past. I never worry too much about it getting waterlogged as one of them will always take advantage of a nice tasty drink.

I use Brinicombe Equine Herbilix. They are less than 8% sugar, and my lot use them occasionally-guessing just when they feel the need

I've never used field licks before barring the usual salt lick. Do you feed this instead of balancer/hard feed?

I have a Rockies 5 star and a himalaya lick. I only feed when they come in to work (good doers) and less than recommended levels.
