My horse is with my friend. He and hers get on like a house on fire but he’s trashing my horses rugs and fly hoods. I’ve only used cheapo fly sheets because his are too nice be be wrecked on day one.
He’s had to have the neck cut off because friend (who, bless her is stitching them up daily!) couldn’t keep up with the repairs on that part.
So I’d leave him naked, but for the fact he is so bothered by flies. He really is super sensitive and hates them. His neck currently is covered in lumps.
He needs decent coverage, this week he’s really mullered both front legs from stamping continuously near the trough.
Any ideas?
I’m going to try my other horses old sweet itch rug in the hope that being a bit stronger it may last longer, maybe coated in crib box ?
It’s so annoying that the most fly hating horse who owns such decent rugs can’t use them!
Has anyone managed to stop a serial rug ripper?
