Field safe head collar that stays on?

As title. Obviously I wouldn't want the head collar to stay on if the horse got into a dangerous situation but I need something that she can't rub off or wriggle out of. Not having much luck so far and she's adamant that she won't be caught once the head collar is off. Any suggestions please?
 
I used the aerborn one with rubber rings, but as those rings break too easily I bought some leather shoelaces and replaced each ring with two strips of leather lace.
 
Thanks Faracat, I've improvised with a bit of bailer twine but I'm not very happy with it!

Landcruiser, those look good. I am going to buy two of them though and see if they will fit over each other as she'll have one off in no time. I wish she'd just leave the things on as she's got a sore patch now :(
 
When I was looking everyone seemed to moan about the rubber ring based ones, which is why ours are just Velcro. F is pretty good about not rubbing them off though so I can't say whether either would be good for that, I don't think the libbys one would come off that easily because the Velcro goes back on itself, but equally I don't think it is that field safe either.
I did consider getting a cheap indian leather one but still wasn't convinced it would break quickly enough in an emergency.

Sparemare, after trying to catch her for two hours on two consecutive days I finally decided to 'starve her out' and left her in a small, bare paddock until she was hungry enough to come for a bucket of chaff & Danilon!!! I don't rate my chances very highly if she gets her head collar off though. I never realised what a little swine she was until I got her home. She was managed really well at livery and the threat of the other horses coming in without her worked like a charm. I can't really replicate that here :o
 
He must rub a bit as he has lost most of the hair on his nose from his mesh nose screen. The only issue I've ever had with them was too much boy play, without any boys to play bitey face with stuff seems to stay on. Is she rubbing it on herself or fencing? we don't have any fencing to rub on which might help but he is used to wearing stuff all the time so probably just doesn't bother.

BTW he is not a good boy, he has behaved like an absolute tit for most of this weekend! :D
 
I've used the rubber ring ones replacing with leather shoelace as above... I like them because they are so lightweight. I haven't ever been that convinced about the velcro ones tbh, they are bleddy strong and the ones I've seen locally only had one velcro bit so could still easily get hooked up by the nose, for example...

I have a super cheapo leather headcollar now which doesn't rub and will definitely break in an emergency. Gawd knows I've broken enough of my leather tack when we've had a whoopsie, I feel quite happy to turn out in a leather headcollar now! :D
 
Our main one is a IV horse one which has Velcro nose and head piece that I'm fairly confident would break easily if he got it caught. Of course he has history of leather rubbing so although that was my next stop if the nylons didn't work probably best avoided! Silly gingers
 
I use the Cottage Craft headcollars with the Velcro bits. They have just enough stick ability but come off in an emergency or if your horse rolls and scrapes his head on the ground long enough when it's over his muzzle to get it off on purpose.
 
Mare lives in a cheeeeap leather headcollar from eBay, cost about £10.
She's been in it pretty much 24/7 from January this year, living out all that time, she's yet to get it off and no rubs. And it's gotten ratty enough around the buckle that I've no doubt if she got caught and pulled in a panic that it would snap.
