I have been using these for a while. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/233206919211?_skw=westernway++headcollar&itmmeta=01JFN3G32MEV27MJZ1SG3NFX0A&hash=item364c37302b:g:NnEAAOSw0rdcRyrZ&itmprp=enc:AQAJAAAA0HoV3kP08IDx+KZ9MfhVJKnk0TkxE4bNy1ojhvaAIOvLWsB9jJ266zul3tm1cobliLAXWtPK6mqaX5YhkigCc4KA2z8OhjyXHGnnXWA8uq0fXT0FT4qIx1NYdVFTcpCy0IstWTqGoxbpb9lJ3YoOV/SnTX1QFc1w5lprG0ZDIDYgXYgtXWZ9vG+3q2+DEyNR1mL3XjlrwevzYUhKr+/gcLfjmWQwRnjE+HnaFRhzG49NKkeVvVZYhU3q5xooJog9jAQz8/TyNeWruSQLxHe8lPM=|tkp:Bk9SR7KxwKP9ZA
They are nice and light, rubber rings for safety and 4-5 velcro breakage points.
ONly problem is my mare has to wear one for when she is acting up due to the grass reactive time when she is in the winter top field. She spooks - tense and won't let you catch her.
Trouble is she reacts negative with my sharer head up - eyes wide and jerks and runs off. Don't know why as sharer is a middle age lady and calm around horses. Whether it is the way she walks ( like I use too) before my knee surgery got a sideways rocking motion. Anyway tonight she could not catch her even with treats, so I went up and went to catch a livery and my mare got inquisitive.
Well tonight my sharer could not catch her, head up eyes wide and ran off taking the others with her. I went up and went to a livery and my mare came up and I put her lead rope on, I then handed the rope to *D* and went to catch a livery. As the livery walked up I had my back to her at this point. My mare jerked away and the headcollar de velcro and the 3 charging round the field, we had a hard job catching any for 1/2 hr. So need a safe head collar which wont come apart if a horse pulls back.
