Just wondering if anyone has any recommendations, my mare is becoming more awkward to catch, resulting in me having to catch the other two first :( So am thinking of trying a field safe headcollar

thanks :)

In my experience the rubber band ones break all the time and the velcro ones don't break at all

If it were me I'd invest in a thin cheap indian leather headcollar which will stay together if you're leading her in and she has a spook but will break if caught in a branch etc.

I have a Fieldsafe one. It is put together with the lowest 'breaking' load strap and has come apart when he spooked & pulled back when tied up once.(Along with the 'safety' tie up rope:/ )

Any leather one will be fine. I only said cheap as there is no point getting an expensive one for in the field. Either the leather will break or the stitching will. If you go for one that costs you about £20 or less it will not be 'super strength', top quality leather so will be perfectly safe.
