I've got the chance to buy a second hand field shelter. Width wise its about 11 x 8 feet which I think would be fine. I'm not sure if head height wise it's ok. It's 1.5 metres at the back 1.8 at the front for a 12h3?
They wouldn't be shut in there but would be nice to have their own shelter when they need to be restricted on grass . Previously sharing with my big horses shelter.

That sounds rather low height wise as I'd have to duck at the back, I'd worry even a 12.3 would knock their heads at the back

Can you make a sort of frame with fencing rails at the height and see what it looks like ? Might give you a better idea.

It sounds a little low, but my 12.3 put himself in the chicken shed one day which is a lot smaller and didn't seem to fussed about it.

You could stand it on a layer of breeze blocks to lift the head height a little. Would mean a bit of step into the shelter but I have pole across my shelter openings to make them step over them anyway.

Yes, mine do the same! We screwed a garden shed on railway sleepers so same idea as the above breeze block suggestion to give a little more head room.

Might need to leave it sadly we are quite open fields so I'd worry it would take off in the wind up on blocks. Just need him to shrink 😂
