Im looking to buy a 12'x24' field shelter with two openings. Undecided about overhang, yes or no? Advice please and supplier recommendation too, would need to be erected by the supplier.
My lot have access to a shelter with & one without an overhang - & they always choose the overhang. I have mud mats outside so someone can stand out if they've had a squabble.
Definitely with an overhang. Mine like to stand with their heads just out the shelter and under it.
If I was getting one, I'd go with Fallen Oak Timber
Definitely overhang, and guttering. My most recent were from NV stables, not too badly priced and assembled quickly. Mine are on metal skids in case I ever decide to move them.
The older unit I think was from National Stables but I think they are no longer. It is probably a but sturdier than the NV ones, also on skids and has been moved a couple of times, down a slope, round a corner and up a slope - it still exists
Always with an overhang. I only ever had one without and the rain gets right in there without one. Make sure it has a gutter, too. I collect the water from mine in a trough.
Mine is a 24 x 12 Hunter shelter with 2 openings and an overhang at the front. My only problem is that the amount of overhang at the back has made it very difficult to fit guttering. I’m told it has to be that way as it helps prevent the wind flipping it . If I was doing it again, I would get them to fit guttering. ETA I am happy with my shelter otherwise.
