Fieldsafe Hedcollars

Bought a Fieldsafe headcollar for my new horse, and its rubbing his face and making him sore he has such fine skin (hes a pink skinned appaloosa) , but I need a headcollar on to catch him.
Does any one know if I can get sheepskin tubes to go over the straps anywhere, or have any suggestions as what I can do?

You can get a fieldsafe attachment to go onto a "normal" headcollar. I can't remember their actual name but you could put it on a headcollar that doesn't rub him.

Or if you want to use the one you have, buy some cheapo french blinkers or noseband sleeves from ebay. Mine were about £1 - I use them on my mare's grazing muzzle to stop them rubbing - ones with velcro fastening are easiest to put on IMO

Buy some fluffy fabric and sew it around the head collar, it should stop the cahffing!

Get thee to a Charity shop, there will be loads of fluffy or sheepskin jackets there.

I think one five pound sheepskin coat lasted me for about five years.

Long shot - but could you try cutting up some old, soft tights and lining the inside of the headcollar with that? xx

best field safe head collar save your money get your softest head collar cut off the clip bit that goes in the ring and attatch a cable tie the cable tie will always give way in event of getting caught up.
