My 9 month old filly has started chewing the fencing, chipboard in the field shelter and anything were the wood has gone soft. Totally understand that she young and wants to chew but yard owner is not to impressed, she now has been fenced away with electric fencing to stop her chewing the fences, but unless i can put something on or do something about the wood she is chewing in the field shelter, it will be fenced off and shes not allowed in it!!
Anybody know of any methods that really work? Cant be too messy either

What I do with my youngsters is place a number of Kanguro rubber skip-buckets in the field with them. They love to chew and play with them.

Aww, babies ! We ended up leccy fencing everything too!
Just a thought, is there enough fibre--hay--- left out for her?
:-)

Whilst Chancer is a nibbly bugger and loves playing and trashing things, the only time he chewed wood and his stable was when we had a batch of hay he hated and was hardly eating.

Changed the hay and no more chewing wood, just the other numerous things he likes to destroy within reach.

The only thing I can do to stop him trashing the equipment in the school is to put up electric fencing and from time to time attach the shepherd and zap him as he starts to chew the tape and walk through it.
