I have found a house (I think, I hope etc....) in Waterstock, just down the road from the training centre, so am now on the hunt for yards.

Can anyone recommend anywhere reasonably locally that does DIY/assisted DIY livery, with potential for part on the odd occasion? I will travel up to about 30 mins away, in any direction.

The most important thing for me is all year turnout (24/7 in summer if poss, but not essential), a school (not bothered about specifically indoor), and a reasonable YO.

If anyone has any ideas, or knows of places to avoid, I'd be grateful of any suggestions! I'm also going through the Yellow Pages finding places to call in the week.

Thanks

I've got one I'd recommend (not actually mine, but kept horse there for a year and highly recommend it). It's in sydenham (Nr chinnor). Let me know if thats a good location and I'll pass on more details

Why don't you look on the BHS website. They list all the BHS approved livery yards by county.

The BHS website is rubbish and just because a yard is approved doesn't actually mean it's much good. Also, not every yard is approved so just looking on the BHS site won't give me details of every yard in the area - by going through Yellow Pages, the ABRS and BHS sites, and asking for opinions on here, I can narrow it down to decent yards.

Also, I am moving into the area and don't know it so it's always helpful to see what people on here think. Don't see any harm in it - don't like the posts, don't read or answer them!

Thanks for the help. My plans keep changing and have decided that although the house in Waterstock is lovely, there's not enough security as I could end up having to move again in the summer. Have gone for one in Banbury instead, so am now looking up that way. I've found a few numbers from good old Google of yards over in that direction so fingers crossed there's something decent!

My in laws have DIY self livery grazing, one acre paddocks, near Brackley. If you want further info, give me a shout and i will pass on their number. Would you be living in Banbury its self, or in a surrounding villiage??? i am sure i can find a few more contacts if that would be to far out.

P.s. depending where abouts in Banbury you are, it can be only a 10 mintue drive. Each paddock has a shelter, and they do have a school, not the best, but i use it.
