Final Rosie accident update

Rosie is tired of being famous only for having had an accident but as a last update re her health I thought a kind of of sign-off post might be a good idea.

On Monday she went back to Addenbrookes to see the consultant who signed her off as fit and ok to ride competitively - just as well since she's been riding for about 6 weeks already - although he confessed to not knowing a lot about riding and took her Mum's word for it that she is safe (she'd have hardly been letting her ride if she didn't think she was safe now would she).

She is not yet as strong as she was before but is a lot better than when she first got back on board and getting stronger every day. She plans to be out eventing as soon as she is physically able and would once again like to thank everbody for their kind thoughts/vibes/prayers - I'm sure they have helped in what medics, family and friends seem to think is a bit of a miracle recovery.

I'll keep you informed of her competition progress (well I am her very proud Granny :-))

the whole thing is such a feat of recovery I am so impressed with her determination and sunny attitude to the accident. Please pass on my good luck vibes to Rosie and I wish her all the best for her future competing

I've never posted on your threads before as I felt like an imposter passing comment when I don't know Rosie or you. None the less I was wishing Rosie a speedy and full recovery throughout. I just wanted to post now to say how inspiring Rosie's determination and attitude has been and still is. I'm so glad that there is a very happy ending and I can't wait to read the competition reports (with pics!)

Rosie will be famous before long for being 'that girl who had that terrible accident, recovered in record time and now gets amazing results eventing', I am sure of it! But I can see how the accident thing must be wearing a little thin!

I am looking forwards to reading your competition reports about her, hope it's very soon.

Although I have never met Rosie from your posts she is a truly remarkable person and must surely give hope and inspiration to us all. Her determination is top of the world and you and all her family also deserve so much praise for how you have handled what must have been a mother's worst nightmare.
I am genuinely so pleased that Rosie is now so well (albeit with a little strengthening to do) in what seems to be such a short time considering the seriousness of her accident.
I am looking forward to reading all about her competitive exploits (and winnings of course)
Thank you for keeping everyone in the loop.It has certainly been of help to me to realise that whatever problems we may have there is always someone out there to give us hope.
 
You can reassure Rosie that her riding reputation far exceeds her notoriety for having had a bad accident around these parts!!

The accident is always going to be mentioned alongside her results, but if it helps her get some more media coverage (and therefore free advertising), gets her more rides and makes her even more famous then all's good surely?

So glad to hear she's had the "official" all clear. It really is remarkable how quickly she has recovered from such a horrific accident. I can see how it could be annoying having it brought up over and over, but she should see this as a compliment that people are acknowledging what she has been through and how brilliantly she's doing.

Best of luck to her and I bet she can't wait to get back to eventing.

Rosie has been an inspiration, so she will always be more than 'the girl who had the accident' in my eyes.

What fantastic news! Do you think she might ever come on here herself? I've been wondering for a while now why she doesn't mingle & it would be fab to 'talk' to her 'in person'.

Great news, just having a moments thought for the ones that don't recover, but we all take the risk , then again all of life is a risk. So pleased she has come through it all
