Final? update on anorexic horse.

What happens if you just let him eat or not, as he chooses? Does he lose weight?

Weight is not an issue. He must eat bucket food to get the two supplements in that he needs just to stay healthy. This and the previous thread covers it all if you have half a day spare to read them This horse is very speshul. In forty years I've not met one like him!


He was cold and wet and hungry this morning when I got them in at ten, and he has eaten up quickly. Let's hope that's it for now ...... until we travel next time!


I'm only venting, thanks guys, we've been through every possible suggestion that could help. I don't need advice, just somewhere to wail a bit while I pull the hair out of my head

Very late to this thread and it may or may not have been covered - but can you not mix the supplements into a paste with some apple sauce and syringe in like a wormer? If weight is not an issue and feed is only being used as a carrier, this is something I would be considering - unless you have already tried this
