For the first time this winter I've admitted defeat and not turned out my horse today. We've battled extreme cold, blizzards, 2 ft of snow and general disruption but the extreme frost finally beat us. I actually tried to turn out but after a great impression of Bambi (and that was in the frozen field) we retreated back to the stable. An hour later when presented with a headcollar, she backed off to the rear of the stable with a very doleful expression - "you've got to be kidding", springs to mind.
I suppose everyone is thinking the same thing but I'm seriously considering taking off her shoes next November and hanging up my spurs until March. Fed up and off for a glass of wine!
